About Kay

Kay F. Gasner, Artist, Jewelry Designer & Maker
President & Owner: Kay G Designs, Inc.
            Self-Representing Artist

Kay Gasner resides in the Melbourne, Florida coastal area. Ms. Gasner has a BSBA in Business Administration from Florida Institute of Technology. She enjoyed a long professional career in Human Resources specializing in Employee Relations, Compensation, and Staffing. She holds several professional certifications (Senior Professional in Human Resources, SPHR (life certification); Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Kay has worked at companies such as Lockheed Martin, Oracle Corporation, and Northrop Grumman.

In 2002, Kay started making jewelry. In 2005 she started her company: Kay G Designs, Inc. In 2009 Kay ventured into the art of flame-work (melting glass with a surface-mix torch), taking many flame-work classes from respected well-known glass artists and began making flame-work beads in her studio. All her beads are annealed in a digitized kiln overnight for extra durability. Kay cores some of her beads with sterling silver tubing and adds her hand-made bead caps to make beautiful bracelets (some are embedded with cubic zirconias). Lastly, in 2020 Kay started taking silversmithing classes with well-known respected jewelers such as Kent Raible and Leslie Kail Villarreal where she is learning how to make tubes (for her own gem-setting bezels), using a drawplate to draw down the tubes to the appropriate sizing, and making her own granulated round balls for fancy decoration, plus more.
